Expert Witness
An expert witness or professional witness is a witness who by virtue of education, training, skill or experience, is believed to have knowledge in a particular subject beyond that of the average person, sufficient that others may officially (and legally) rely upon the witness’s specialized (scientific, technical or other) opinion about an evidence or fact issue within the scope of their expertise.
Debra has been called as an expert witness in numerous cases, both for family and workplace matters. Family matters center around parenting issues, such as custody and re-unification. As a called upon resource for the Family Court in Imperial County, she also made many recommendations to the court regarding parenting and custody.
Debra is also an expert career counselor for adults in transition, with more than 25 years of experience and the former President of the California Association of Rehabilitation & Re-Employment Professionals. She is a certified specialist in disability management and ergonomics. She has testified in court or by way of deposition on cases regarding disability and accommodation, wrongful termination, as well as discrimination and harassment.
